The Soundscaper was built by Mediated Spaces, Inc. An award winning, interactive design studio based in New York City, the Mediated Spaces team has worked on many software projects and interactive installations, and graduated from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program.

Mediated Spaces is a pioneering mobile software development company focusing on citizen science.

THE TEAM

The team for Soundscaper has worked on many interactive public projects and large-scale installations. The four met at their graduate program, NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program. Their work collectively has been covered in The New York Times, Popular Science, The Village Voice, New York Metro, C|NET, Colors Magazine and others, and has been displayed at the Chelsea Art Museum, the Sony Wonder Tech Lab, Eyebeam, the 3rd Ward (Brooklyn), Proflux (RI), VIDEOFORMES (France), the China Digital Entertainment Festival, New York University, the University of British Columbia, Svevo Castle (Italy), the DUMBO Arts Festival, Refusalon Gallery (San Francisco), STYLIN Festival (Miami), The Schautankstelle Gallery (Berlin), the Merce Cunningham Studio, Rockefeller Center, and many others.

BIOGRAPHIES

Kuan Huang

Kuan Huang is a software engineer and multimedia artist who hails from Shanghai, China. His expertise lies in building computer assisted vision technology based solutions and games.

Jared Lamenzo

Jared Lamenzo is a multimedia producer and artist. His work has been shown internationally, and as a musician, he has worked with Grammy award-winning and chart-topping artists. He is a graduate of Harvard, where he concentrated in Applied Mathematics and Engineering.

Maia Marinelli

Maia Marinelli is an artist from Bari, Italy, and grew up on a sailboat. She has exhibited her work and mounted installations internationally, and has worked for RG/A and Magnum Photography. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy and studied at the FHP Fachhochschule Potsdam.

Mohit SantRam

Mohit SantRam is designer and technologist based in New York City. Mohit recently worked at Frog Design, Inc. where he worked on several mobile phone applications, commercial websites, and innovative new technologies. Mohit was technical director of ym.com, the online site of YM Magazine, and holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Gettysburg College.
